Summary

Audion is built to keep audio inside your building. It streams over your local network only and does not use cloud services or collect personal information.

What we collect

We do not collect:

• Names, emails, phone numbers, or account information
• Audio content or recordings
• Device identifiers for advertising
• Location data
• Analytics or tracking cookies

What may exist temporarily on your Mac:

• Your selected audio input device setting
• App preferences (e.g., title/subtitle/logo if you use them)
• Basic operational data used for streaming (e.g., whether streaming is on)

This information stays on your Mac and is used only to run the app.

Listener connections

When someone connects from a phone/tablet browser on your Wi-Fi, Audion may display a listener count. Audion does not identify individual listeners.

Local network only

Audion is designed to work on a local Wi-Fi network and does not require internet access. Audio is streamed from your Mac to devices on the same network.

Speech recognition (optional)

If you enable the optional Live Transcription feature, Audion uses on-device speech recognition (provided by macOS) to convert audio to text. This feature:

• Processes all audio locally on your Mac
• Does not send audio to Apple or any cloud services
• Generates text captions that are broadcast to listeners in real-time
• Does not record or store transcriptions

Transcriptions are ephemeral and disappear when streaming stops. No transcription history is saved.

Third-party services

Audion does not integrate with third-party analytics, ads, or cloud storage services by default.

Security

No system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for:

• securing your local network (Wi-Fi password, guest network settings, etc.)
• controlling physical access to the streaming Mac

Children's privacy

Audion is not designed to collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will change the effective date and post the updated version on our website.

Terms of Use

Product: Audion (the "App") and any related website/help pages (the "Services")

1) Acceptance

By installing or using Audion, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, do not use the App.

2) What Audion does

Audion lets you stream audio from your Mac to devices on your local network through a web browser.

3) License

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Audion for lawful purposes, subject to these Terms.

4) Your responsibilities

You agree that you will:

• use Audion in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
• only stream audio you have the right to stream (including music licensing where applicable)
• not misuse the App (e.g., attempt to break security, reverse engineer where prohibited, or use it to harm others)

5) Local network and device limitations

Audion performance depends on your network, audio hardware, and devices. You are responsible for:

• providing a stable Wi-Fi network
• configuring your router/firewall as needed
• maintaining your Mac and audio setup

6) No warranties

Audion is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

7) Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Audion and its creators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of the App or inability to use it.

If liability is found, our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for Audion (which is currently $0).

8) Changes and updates

We may update the App or these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

9) Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services if you violate these Terms. You may stop using Audion at any time by uninstalling it.

10) Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Arizona, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.
