# Getting Started

Get Audion up and running in just a few minutes.

## System Requirements

- **macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later**
- Any audio input device (built-in mic, USB interface, soundboard)
- Local WiFi network
- Mac connected to your audio system

## Installation

1. Download Audion from the [AppStore](http://audion.josiaho.com)
2. Launch Audion from Applications

## Initial Setup

### Step 1: Select Your Audio Input

1. Open Audion
2. From the **Audio Input** dropdown at the top, select your audio source:
   - Built-in microphone
   - USB audio interface
   - Soundboard output
   - Aggregate device

> **Tip:** If you don't see your device, try unplugging and reconnecting it, then restart Audion.

### Step 2: Test Your Audio

1. Speak or play audio through your selected input
2. Watch the **Level Meter** in the middle of the window
3. The meter should move with your audio (green bars are good!)
4. If you see no movement, check your audio connections

### Step 3: Start Streaming

1. Click the **"Start Streaming"** button
2. The status will change to "Status: Streaming" (green text)
3. The app is now broadcasting audio on your local network

### Step 4: Share the Connection

You'll see a URL displayed in the app like:

```
Access at: 192.168.1.100:8080/listen
```

**Option A: Share the URL**
- Tell listeners to visit this URL in their browser
- Works best for small groups

**Option B: Generate QR Code**
1. Click the **"QR Code"** button
2. Save the QR code as a PNG file
3. Print it in bulletins or display it on signage
4. Listeners scan and connect instantly
